Specimen Tracking

The specimen tracking module is designed to help the lab track sample storage locations and sample types extracted for each patient, including serum and DNA samples. This module allows users to quickly view boxes’ contents and to have control over assigning locations of samples in boxes, organizing and re-arranging them as needed, and more. Additionally, lab-driven logic can be built into the module to handle locations and organization removing any guesswork. It is a useful tool when cleaning out freezers and/or archiving old samples. The Specimen Tracking module is a customizable tool tailored to the lab’s needs and integrates with mTilda.

Key features and information stored:

• Patient identification

• Type of sample (DNA, Serum)

• Extraction date

• Sample tube number (if more than 1)

• Special notes, e.g. unusable sample

• Sample location

  • Fridge / freezer number

  • Box / rack number

  • Box / rack position

• Manage and organize the contents of each box

• Customizable report displaying the box’s contents
