Data Migration

When transitioning from a previous LIMS or internal database to mTilda, it is always crucial to transfer and maintain all historical sample and testing data. Data migration is a critical part of the mTilda implementation and we take great care in doing it.

Since every lab is unique with different types and structure of data, custom data migration scripts developed for each project. The migration standards and considerations are discussed with the lab at length to identify the best way to complete it. Additionally, we use an enterprise-level tool which is often used for custom data migration across many organizations. This standardized process ensures success and data integrity. Importantly, all of the historical / migrated data is usable in mTilda and reports can be generated from them.

Data migration from various sources is possible and some of the more common ones are listed here:

  • Reagent vendor analysis software database

  • SQL-based databases

  • Access databases

  • Excel spreadsheets

  • CCL-based data files

  • OTTR-based data files

  • AS400 database
